The leper can be cured of his disease with the right offering to the Lord. The verse walks through it all, but the symbolism here is so crisp. The offering made to God in our names is Christ on the Cross. We are the leper and Christ is our dove: That live in the running water (the Word of God), has spilled his scarlet (His blood), and taken our sin for us (sacrifice). We are not in control of what happens with us. The Lord is in sole control. Only if we give His this control and submit to Him, will we be cleansed of our disease (sin). To finish the cleansing process, more sacrifices are needed. We have to open ourselves us to the Holy Spirit to live in our lives. The Israelites did this through physical sacrifice. The healing for us is based solely on the Cross. Christ elevated us higher than we could again, yet we squander the splendor offered us. Reflect on the Glory given to us daily. Embrace the Lord.
The 2 rituals that were completed seem redundant but they serve different purposes. The first represents the work of Christ and proclaiming it and repenting of our sin. The second sacrifice is the sacrifice of redemption. Without the 1st the 2nd is not worth anything. Same for the inverse. So many of His people turn and repent, Then do not follow through the redemption. Or vice versa. Do both and be with God wholly and completely.
Once a home is infected with leprosy (the disease of sin), it will first attempt to be salvaged. Stones replaced, mortar redone, etc. But if the house be unsavable, They must deconstruct it! Any house that is unclean and unfit to the Lord is a sin to our hearts. Remove ourselves from the crooked house and remove the infection. The house represents God's house and His Word. If any house, church, business, or what have you be corrupted in their mission away from God, we are to no longer support this place. Until the work is done to fix the unclean parts of the house, none should reside. We must reside in the upright and pure house of God. This home will be free from the evil and influenced by God above all. Fix your house to avoid the plagues and reside in the calm waters of Christ.
