Paul reiterates again that we are free from the Law of Moses to worship Christ the Redeemer. As a widow is free to marry again and serve another, we are free of Moses's Law and can now follow Christ. Any manly attempt to control ourselves and not let sin control us is destined for failure. That is as if one would be living in the old Law. We should not try to live in any law, we should try to live with Christ. With Him as our focus, we can ask Him for guidance and allow Him to show us the path. Help me (I struggle here) to be with You all of the time Lord. Guide me in my struggles and take over my weaknesses and make them strengths. Paul gives the example of himself failing to keep the law and how he continued to fail. We shall have the same outcome! The Law is a mirror. It shows us our flaws in God's eyes. It is not right to dwell on our flaws except in an attempt to improve them with Christ. Through a strong bond with Christ, we can quell the sin nature that lies in all of us. Beat it down and do not allow it to manifest. But the way to the quell is through Christ. There is no other way to limit our sinful nature as man. A constant connection to Christ is the only way to do this. Saying yes to Christ will allow us to say no to so many other negative things in this world. I will take this farther than the Word says... Christ is the key to our own discipline. Without His strength behind us, we cannot hold true to ourselves and what we are searching for here on this earth. Christ is the key to opening our own doors to go the direction He would take us. Do not give in to the weakness of our sinful nature. Look to Christ when we commit a sin and ask for His help. Constantly abide in Him to seek freedom from that impulse and transform your life.
