Gideon has become part of Israel. Now the Amorites have come against them. They seek the help of Joshua and Israel. As evidenced by the Faith kept by Joshua and Israel, Gideon knows that they will be kept safe through the power of Lord. In response to this Faith, the Lord tells Joshua “Fear them not”. With supreme Faith in the Lord we should also not have fear of our earthly troubles. In Him and Him alone we are safe. The Lord fought for Israel with Hailstones and stayed the sun and the moon. This evidence confirms the ALMIGHTY POWER OF GOD. Through Faith we can have the protection and blessings of the Lord, just as Israel was with Joshua. Israel continues to move against its enemies and with the guidance of the Lord has endless victories. This is true for us also!! Seek His guidance and constantly overcome every obstacle we face. As Israel does in this chapter they defeat all of their enemies and leave no sin left in the lands they were promised. We must do the same through the Cross. Jesus saved us from sin on the Cross and we are called to join Him in being free from sin and the sinful. Lift yourself up and ask for forgiveness to be relieved of sin.
