Israel and the Jews continue to be lectured to by Paul. This had to be hard to read for them. If the Jews had been more receptive to Jesus and what he teaches this letter would not be necessary! I pray we have no need for our Paul to write us a letter to fix our behavior and beliefs. Allow Jesus and his Grace to flow over us and guide us in the ways that He would have us go. God wants us saved. Help those that do not hear or see You to have their eyes upon us living for You as, yet we are in this world. In the Holy Tree with Holy roots, Israel's branches were cut off that the Gentile tree could be grafted to the roots of the Holy tree, and they could grow together. This cannot happen in nature. This metaphor is meant to show us the power of the Lord. The original tree remains intact, it just no longer bears much Holy fruit from the original branches. Now the primary fruit comes from the graft and its branches. These branches have grown bigger and wider than the branches of the original tree. The original tree is waiting, tall trunked and wide, for the Lord to call upon it again. When Jesus returns, all of Israel will turn to Him and be saved. We must understand that the Lord our God is for everyone! God extended His promises to everyone so that he could bring Israel back to Him one day. Paul ends this verse so powerfully. " For of Him, and through Him, are all things: to Whom be Glory Forever. Amen."
