This chapter goes back to Egypt and when the Lord freed His people. The name Jacob is used in this verse to refer to His people. This is to remind us that grace, not merit, is the basis for our deliverance. None of us are worthy just as Jacob before us was not worthy without the forgiveness and grace of God.
The next 5 verses are examples of nature trembling and bowing to the Lord. If the Lord is so powerful that He can shape nature and nature fears Him, why would we not hold Him and His name as the same?!? We are often not effective enough in our lives in remembering the Lord and His power. We should endear the Lord, our God and give Him our utmost respect. With the Lord all things are possible and without Him we are destined for failure.
Happy New Year to All!
