The wicked and the proud sharpen their tongues like weapons and reach their hands out to consume us. Keep us, O God, from falling into their snares, being trapped by their nets, and falling for their deceits. The evil will pronounce itself if we hold ourselves in the Lord. If He is our help as His father was His help, while He was here, then we will be like Him and be free from these deceits and tricks. Verse 6 "I said unto the Lord, You are my god: hear the voice of my supplications, O Lord." This is exactly how we get the Lord on our side and keep Him with us. Yesterday we talked about so many things we can do in Christ. Together will God, and against the evil, we will come out victorious in His name!
Verses 8-11 are attacks against the evil and desires to affect them negatively in the evil ways. The Lord is powerful over all. If we reach out to the Lord to harm others, I would say that is not ideal. However, if we are allowing the Lord to decide who receives the punishment and judgement its fair game. For that same prayer we pray may end up turning itself back on ourselves had we not be careful. Cast not stones in the place where one's judgement does not matter.
Have faith in God and His Son, the Messiah. There is little doubt in my mind that through faith, our Savior will envelop us with love and mercy. Forgiving our sins and reconciling our debts at the snap of His fingers. We must strive to be with Him MOAR. He needs us to witness the perfection that He was on this Earth and will be again when He returns. He has left traces of that perfection in the beauty of His creation, if we can stop long enough to Praise Him in these moments.
