The triumph of Christ in this verse is very evident and it tears at my heart as I read it.
David is our author again, surprise! HE did write most of the Psalms. David pours our His complaints to God in Verse 2 and shows Him his troubles. Do we vent to God about our frustrations and weaknesses? Why not? He is the ultimate listener. Creating a strong bond with God requires that we have good conversation with Him, just as any man to man relationship does.
The life of Christ was not an easy life. He was often overwhelmed by His duty, to remain sinless. God knew His struggles and He kept refuge in God. It is as though Jesus was conscious of His need to remain without sin. God was in His ear constantly about His behavior. Or Jesus too would have fallen victim to the behavior that is our nature. Snares and harnesses, wires and traps. Sin is everywhere looking to capture us and eat away at our relationships and our discipline. Allow God into our live and allow that relationship to grow so that God can be your trusted advisor. Christ had no equal on earth to confide in or no one cared for His soul. He was destined for a life of struggle, with the power of the Almighty.
Trust the Lord to by our refuge as He was for Christ. He will deliver us from our persecutors and attend to our needs. We are persecuted every day by the sin makers of the world. The trap layers and Satan's demons. Only God can navigate us through the twist and turns that is life on Earth. God will save our souls from necessary purgatory through His son, the greatest sacrifice the world will ever know. The death and resurrection of Christ is the ultimate joy for our lives.
