This chapter primarily describes whom David is seeking protection from. It is bookended with prayer. Prayer of protection from the enemy and the fear of the enemy. The enemy is the men who do not know Christ and those others who are like those men. They seek a group but that group is the wrong place. The group you are chasing is the group we should aspire to be. All men should fear the Lord. All men shall declare the work of God. The righteous shall be glad in the Lord, and the upright in heart shall glory. That sentence comes from verse 10. We are told to rejoice and be uplifted in the Glory of our risen Savior. How special does that make us? Where our God lifts us up and He himself was lifted. Praise Him for the opportunities to repent and respect the Word. Help us to give the Word more weight in our lives.
