The author here is in distress and cries out to the Lord. He asks God to not hide His face so that he may hear Him and be answered quickly. The Lord does not always answer us quickly as it can be a fool’s errand trying to direct the Lord. Verses 3-11 describe the pain and suffering of our author. The metaphors are tremendous about how he has fallen from God’s grace. Distressed and weak as though His pain is deep. But why is He in pain and why has God deserted Him?
Verse 12 begins the path back to the Lord. In our times of struggle we need the Lord. But, we also need Him in our times of success. He will raise up Zion and live abundantly forever. The Earth as we know it will not last but God is eternal. The world will fear His name and revere His glory. He will release us all from our Sin (He already did through Jesus Christ). God is King and the Almighty and should be held as such in our hearts our souls and our minds.
He is capable of helping us or breaking us depending on how we hold Him. We either receive the blessings or have things taken from us. But that is up for us to decide. He is forever and shall we deviate from our love for Him we are better than no others. Love the Lord and teach His ways so the next generations can be with Him also. God will be there for them too as He is for us now.
