David first asks for the Lord to talk to Him and show Him the way and then immediately give the Lord his praise. We must also always give praise and thanks to the Lord because our needs are always provided when we praise His name. David is dealing with turmoil again and speaks to this in the next verses. He asks for God to set another wicked man against those opposing him for David believes he has only shown them love and the attacks are without cause. David then asks God to strike his opposition down and he takes no sympathy to the man or men even going so far as wiping their history off the earth. There is little forgiveness in the tone and that of vengeance. He quickly changes His tune as if he was venting to God! What a relationship David had that he could vent in prayer! We should all seek this level of trust in God. David proclaims the things he is doing for God and what he needs the Almighty’s help with. More of a plea in prayer. He also continuously holds fast to the Lord and his love for Him. This is recognition of the love that He has for all of us. Something we must all due in prayer. Be lifted up through His glory. Be not downtrodden and sad for our blessings are eternal and our sin written away.
