This is the first of the 3 Hallelujah Pslams! Verse 1 gives thanks and praise to the Lord for His blessings. Verses 2-4 celebrate His works done for us. Honestly I can’t sum them up much better than the quotes themselves. Verse 2 “ The works of the Lord are great, sought out of all then who have pleasure therein. (3) His work is honourable and glorious: and His righteousness endures forever. (4) He has made His wonderful works to be remembered: the Lord is gracious and full of compassion.” We are so very blessed to have our God who loves us and will always remember the covenant that He made with us. Man will fail nearly everywhere he goes, but with God all things are possible. The works of God and eternal and with stand fast against all things. That is the works done already, the works today, and the works yet to come. Truth and Judgement from God will be unabashed when we meat Him. We are to revere Him and His Name and His Covenant forever.

Verse 10 states “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they who do His commandments: His praises endure forever.” Do you fear the Lord and understand His power over this world? Is there a desire to be loved and please Him? Do you have a grasp of His Word where all His knowledge lies? Things to ponder as the new year draws closer.
