The author here asks for the Lord to hear him and give him an answer in verse 1. We know the Lord is always listening to us and knows just what we need. Then after asking from God, he confesses his love for God and his complete trust in Him. This should be reversed! We must first confess our love and trust in Him before we make requests. Give thanks and praise before asking of Him. Our author asks for Grace and to be gladdened in verses 3&4 as he cries out to the Lord all day. He is proclaiming God as his Savior always, just as we are meant do. Our author is pleading with God for grace. And most importantly, he is aware that grace comes from God. The other verses support this claim and by progressing the works of God as unique and wondrous. In Verse 11 after this praise he asks for the Lord to teach him in the ways of the Lord and to fear Him (respect Him). The author here is in trouble and he knows not how to escape. He asks the Lord to protect Him and open the eyes of his pursuers. We are always being pursued by the demons and devils of this world. Sin is waiting for us behind every door and corner. Help us be free of these temptations, Lord, and move forward with your name on our lips before our own.
