This psalm starts out much like the way our prayers should begin. Giving all the Glory to God. Then we ask to hear us. Not thing more but to hear us pray to Him. How simple a request!
Verses 2 through 9 are about the suffering and pain that our author is facing. He knows that by himself he is utterly inadequate. We all face similar suffering without the Lord. It is up to us to find Him wherever we are in our life’s journey and make it a point that He is our guide and our Savior. If not we will be like our author; “… in the lowest pits, in the darkest depths.”
Often our prayers are not answered and we e may think the Lord doesn’t hear us reaching out to Him. This is our trial and temptation from God. Look through the unanswered prayers and see show face as He never turns away from His servants.
Do not turn over to the darkness that surrounds this world. It is easy to fall into the despair and traps around every corner. Be LIFTED by His Word and His Love.
