When Jesus had gathered the 12 together He gave them a mission of Faith. Go and tell Israel that the Kingdom is upon them. He gave them the gifts of healing, raising the dead, casting out demon and many other powers that only come from Him and the Father. His instructions included to take nil with you. For the Lord shall provide. Take in no payment for your miracles for Christ gave freely and they are to give freely in kind. Rely on the like-minded in the town to house and care for you. The Lord will make certain that you find each other. Jesus also told them to be cautious of the men, particularly the religious apostates. For you are sheep in a bundle of wolves. And they will cast you aside.
Persecution will be constant, but we are not to be discouraged! Go into the next city and continue on in My Name. Men will hate you and spit at you, yet we are to stay above that behavior. Through Christ we can stay calm and patient with the world. For all we do should be in His name and for His glory. At the end of verse 23 Jesus proclaims “til the Son of Man be come.” Yet, He is already here. This is the proclamation that He will return and then and only then will the persecution end and the world be at peace.
We are going to suffer in the same extent as Christ did. There will be mistreatment and frustration in our daily lives. Yet, we all must conquer these issues. The only way is through Him and the Father. While the life of man may seem difficult, if we trust in God will it not be easier? He cares for the sparrows in totality, why would He not care for you in the same manner? Whoever confesses love for God and repents of His sins is saved. After the confession to Christ of our sins, Christ will speak on our behalf to the Father. Christ is the only way to the Father.
Our struggles will not only be in the world but often be of our family. Our arguments of Faith within the immediate family and the church family will be eternal until Christ comes to stop all the fighting. Our biggest foes are often the ones we are closest to. God keeps our biggest challenges where we can deal with them day after day. No weakness or we will be conquered by these challenges. Seek Christs help and we shall overcome. If we refuse the Cross, we refuse Christ. Accept the Cross and be saved. Love Christ above all else for His order is to Love Him first. If we love other or other things first, we are not following His Word.
Our reward is in Heaven with Christ. For anyone who receives Christ is full will receive the Father. We are to receive everyone as we receive Christ and show our love and respect for God’s creation and His people. With Christ we are all His people.
