Leviticus 20: God mentions again in this chapter how we are not to sacrifice our children to other gods (Molech). And any man who does not stand up to a man doing this in his sight is as bad as the offender. We must stand up against evil in all its forms.
Moses, through God, describes the penalties for the sins as death. Israel was struck with harsh penalties for its deviance from God. He was preparing them for the Messiah. All of the acts we discussed yesterday are amongst the things that will put them to spiritual death.
God wants us to rely on Him fully and not rely on the strength of man as the heathens do. Under the Nee Covenant we are given the grace and mercy of God through Jesus. This grace and mercy allows us to be free from the evils of the world if we trust in Him. Devote our hearts to Him and embrace the feeling of safety and love. Do not be deterred by the threats from the Old Law for fear is part of the respect we must give our God.
