Leviticus 24: The priests have another job in the temple. Keeping the lamps full of oil. The lamps were to be constantly on and full of pure olive oil. This lamps represents the Holy Spirit being ever present in our lives. What is your lamp? The place for the Holy Spirit to reside in and around you? Does the Spirit have that place?
12 cakes were to be replaced on the golden altar every sabbath and pure frankincense burnt upon the cakes. The fire was judgement. Everything on the altar was mentioned as pure. Just as Christ is sinless and pure for our sakes. We are blessed to be saved by the Lord and the Sacrifice of His Son.
The son of a heathen and an Israelite blasphemed God and was sent to the prison. The woman was named and what tribe she belonged to. I feel like this is to be important. The Lord would judge and take the life of those that sinned against Him grievously. The son who cursed God’s name was to be stoned. Whosever curses his God shall bear the sin of the act. “He shall surely bear out to death and all the congregation shall certainly stone him” - Chapter 16. The cursing of the Lord is not the only thing mentioned that will be judged by God. Murder, killing of a beast, a blemishing a neighbor, etc. these things are to be judged and punished by God. In the fashion from man of an eye for an eye. Hurt your neighbor and be hurt in the same manner oneself! “You shall have one manner of Law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your country: for I am the Lord your God.” - Verse 22. The Law of God was to be the only Law that was held high. Do we also hold His law high?
