“Grace be unto you, and Peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ” - verse 1. Paul ends the introduction of this letter with a statement so full of clarity and directness. It also a statement we should wish unto one another. All the world is to hear the message, what better way than with the Good Word.
Paul in verse 2 mentions how he is praying for these people and their church. He gives thanks for them to God. Are you giving thanks for the good men and women, blessings, children, etc in your life? Paul devoted his life to God and had an extensive prayer list that included the Thessalonians. What does our prayer list look like? Where do we tell God what we need help with and do we allow Him to speak to us?
Paul prayers the Thessalonians for the fruit they have gathered and the strength of their faith. The Gentile is now the chosen by the Lord as the Jews will forever reject Jesus until He comes again. The church is to be made up of mostly gentiles. Few jews made the conversion to belief in Jesus. As the persecution of the disciples displayed. In verse 8 Paul tell them how they have done a great deed in grasping the Word and allowing it to change their lives. They lived the same Word Paul preached! This true acceptance is life altering. How is your life altered by the Lord?
