Nehemiah 3: Nehemiah gets to meet the High Priest in Jerusalem. Along with Him and his brethren the priests, they began to build up the gates of Jerusalem. In verse 5. The nobles of the Tekoites put their necks not to work. If they had known that for years we would be reading of their rejection to help rebuild the Holy City. We should remember this in how we represent our own lives. Do we decline to serve the Lord? Where is our calling taking us? Would we want our actions recorded and looked on by millions for eternity?
The rest of this chapter contains a list of peoples and what they did to the Holy City. The Lord calls peoples from all walks of life to His service. There is little debate how honored we would all be to be present in the Word of God. Where would we place ourselves in a new addition to the Word. Would we be mentioned at all? Do His work!
