This chapter changes to instructions for Aaron and the priests. They shall not touch a dead body. Only the close relatives may do this. They shall not show any signs of outward grief that were common amongst the heathen. No cutting of their hair or beard. No piercing of the skin. They shall continue to give offerings to God and remain Holy. I take this as God telling the priests, you have a job to do that I have given unto you. Do the job I asked of you in the way that I would have you do it for everything you do should be in My name. Of course, God is right in this directive. However, like all things from God to man, we must accept it and take it. What job had God given to you? Have you been called to perform for the Lord?
The tribe (family) of Aaron, was to be fulfilled through duty to the Lord. God gives instruction to the High Priest about who he shall marry and the succession of the duty of High Priest. God gives clear instruction about this and wants those that serve Him in full capacity to be like Him. It is impossible to be Him, but to be like Him is something we all should strive for. Seeking the Lord is a task we are given. Where will you find Him next?
God is his perfection does not allow for a man with a physical blemish to serve as High Priest. This is no surprise as God is perfect and the perfect representation of man would be a man without blemish. Yet, all men (except Christ) are imperfect spiritually. Only because of Christ are you and I perfect and our blemishes removed. Do not fall prey to the evils of the world and let those blemishes grow. Set them aside and rise up in His Glory. Be a beacon of perfection and self proclaimed imperfection. As man we are just that. We are all perfectly, imperfect.
